Templates announcements
The whole-of-government goods and services and community services templates have been updated to support the implementation of the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act 2024 (PRIS Act), due to commence on 1 July 2026.
Updates have been made to the privacy clauses in the General Conditions of Contract (GCoC) and the General Provisions for the Purchase of Community Services (General Provisions). The updated clauses provide a baseline position where the Contractor must facilitate the agency’s compliance with the PRIS Act, to the extent relevant to the Contract.
Additionally, a new, optional clause has been added to both the GCoC and General Provisions requires direct compliance with the PRIS Act by the Contractor. This is intended for use in cases where the Contractor will be providing Services and, following an assessment of privacy risks, the agency deems it appropriate and reasonable. A special condition has been added to the applicable request templates which provides the mechanism to ‘switch on’ this elevated clause when required.
The list of updated templates and an overview of what has changed within each template is available on the Procurement templates change webpage.
If you have questions about the application of the PRIS Act to your procurement, contact your agency’s PRIS readiness team and/or consult the Office of the Information Commissioner’s privacy resources on wa.gov.au
