The Department of Housing and Works is progressing an innovative housing development in Tulloch Way, Canning Vale on 8,500m2 of under-utilised State-owned land.
The State Government has appointed ABN Residential as the builder to deliver 50 new social and affordable homes, working alongside With Architecture Studio.
The project will deliver a mix of one, two and three-bedroom rental homes in Canning Vale to help address the need for housing choice and diversity, leveraging new METRONET infrastructure.
The 19 townhouses and 31 apartments will be built to Silver Level Liveable Housing Australia standard. The properties will be managed by a community housing provider.
The location of the development will provide residents direct access to the Thornlie-Cockburn Link via the new Nicholson Road station, which will result in an efficient journey to the Perth CBD in under 30 minutes.
The Tulloch Way development is a key component of the Government’s Housing Diversity Pipeline, which aims to deliver social housing stock in the short to medium term that meets public housing waitlist demand and tenant needs across WA.
Upon completion, the development will receive ongoing availability payments for a period of 25 years through the Federal Government’s Housing Australia Future Fund, supporting the long term provision of safe and secure housing.
