Social and affordable housing development adjacent to Nicholson Road METRONET.
Last updated:

The Department of Housing and Works (Housing and Works) is progressing an innovative housing development in Tulloch Way, Canning Vale on 8,500m2 of State-owned land.

The project will deliver a mix of one, two and three-bedroom social and affordable rental homes in Canning Vale to help address the need for housing choice and diversity, leveraging new METRONET infrastructure.

A Development Application was lodged in October 2024 and approved by the Western Australian Planning Commission in February 2025. The 19 townhouses and 31 apartments will be built to Silver Level Liveable Housing Australia standard.

The location of the development will provide residents direct access to the Thornlie-Cockburn Link via the new Nicholson Road station, which will result in an efficient journey to the Perth CBD in under 30 minutes.

The Tulloch Way development is a key component of the Government’s Housing Diversity Pipeline, which aims to deliver social housing stock in the short to medium term that meets public housing waitlist demand and tenant needs across WA.
