Important information about the data
The data in this report is based on information provided by STRA providers during the registration process. As registrations are self-reported, some records may contain inaccuracies, which can result in unusually high or low values within the dataset.
Consumer Protection regularly reviews and addresses any anomalies where appropriate.
While these records represent only a small proportion of registrations, they may influence some summary statistics. Users should consider this when reviewing and interpreting the results.

All visuals are connected and updated based on your selections. You can interact with the report by clicking, selecting, or hovering over elements.
Filtering the data
Show moreYou can refine what you see by applying filters.
The report will display the averages of number of bedrooms available for STRA and the maximum number of guests.
Using filters
Select an option in a filter to update the report. The report will automatically update to reflect your selections.
Using visual filters
You can also filter the report by selecting elements within charts.
Click on a chart and the rest of the report will update to show related data.
Accommodation Type has a ‘Focus mode’ option which can be accessed by clicking the icon on the top right of that section. This will show the Accommodation Type results in full screen.
Clearing filters
The Clear filters button (located at the top of the report page) will reset all filters.
The report will return to its default view showing all STRA registrations.
Filter options
There are several options available to help you filter the data. These include:
- Hosting status:
Hosted - the STRA provider lives on site including during the guests stay.
Unhosted - the STRA provider does not live on site during the guests stay. Guests often have private access to the entire property. - Title type: states if the property is green title, or part of a strata or community title scheme.
- Registered by: states if the property was registered by the owner or tenant.
- Accommodation type:
Apartment - a unit in a multi-level premises.
Townhouse - a multi-level premises on a shared property.
Villa - a single level premises on a shared property.
House - a primary premises on a green title property.
Room - a bedroom within a premises with shared facilities.
Ancillary Dwelling - a self-contained premises on a lot with a primary premises.
Other - any arrangement that does not fit the above categories. - Registrations by local government: the local government where the registered STRA is located.
- Registrations by region: the region where the registered STRA is located.
