In Western Australia mining companies are granted an authority, lease, licence or permit by the Government to explore or develop mineral resources.  

Tenement applications must be made using Form No. 21 and lodged electronically via the Department of Mines, Petroleum, and Exploration’s (the department) website using Mineral Titles Online (MTO) or at one of the department’s mining registrar’s regional offices.  

Before you submit your application please use the department’s checklist to ensure you have included all information required. 

An application fee and rent is payable for all tenements. Refer to the fees and charges document for more information. Note: A $99,999 transaction limit applies where payment is made by credit card.
