Economy, Environment and Industry

The Economy, Environment and Industry division develops, shapes and provides advice on strategic economic, industry and environment policy to support the State’s economic growth, job creation and improved delivery of outcomes, with a current focus on the State’s post-pandemic economic recovery.

Infrastructure and the Regions

The Infrastructure and the Regions division coordinates the policy, planning and prioritisation of Western Australia’s strategic infrastructure development and projects to underpin economic growth, support job creation, deliver positive social, cultural and environmental outcomes, and maximise benefits for the Western Australian community. This work specifically includes a focus on recognising regional needs and benefits within the context of broader State priorities.

The Directorate is committed to a focus on contributing to and delivering on the Government priorities: supporting frontline services, COVID-19 response, resilience and recovery initiatives, and achievement of social and economic outcomes across the State. This includes support for line agencies in the development and delivery of infrastructure projects.

We work with a number of agencies across the sector and with our key stakeholders to identify opportunities for infrastructure policy and development to deliver on Government priorities.

Collie Delivery Unit

The Collie Delivery Unit is a part of the Infrastructure and the Regions directorate and coordinates work to support the South West town through the transition in its economy, delivering key Government commitments and projects, engaging with industry and promoting investment opportunities in the area.
