If you are elected as a council member, you will be required to:
- Attend all council meetings and relevant committee meetings.
- This includes preparing for these meetings by reading agenda papers.
- Take part in debate, discussion and decision-making at council and committee meetings.
- Review strategic plans, policies and budget information.
- Represent the diverse views of the community.
- Participate in civic events such as citizenship ceremonies and awards.
- Participate in training and continuing professional development. This includes completing the mandatory Council Members Essentials training within 12 months of your election, and other professional development as required.
