The initial fee to register a STRA premises is $250.

Registration requires yearly renewal. The renewal fee is $100.

Owner/tenant/individual managing the property

To access the STRA Register, you will need to set up a My Account to login. You can then select 'Individual users' once you are logged in.

If you are an individual owner of the property, and it is not owned by a business or trust, then you will be an individual user.

Business/property manager

When accessing the STRA Register on behalf of a business, you will need to set up a My Account before setting up your business account.

If the business or trust owns the STRA property, select 'Business Users' and complete the business registration to allow you to act on behalf of the business.

Property Managers accessing the STRA Register on behalf of a business will also need to select ‘Business Users’ and complete a business registration. Once the business is registered, STRA Providers can find your business to nominate the business as their property manager.

The personal information you provide here will be used by the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety (LGIRS) to: 

  • administer and maintain the Short-Term Rental Accommodation (STRA) Register; 
  • process applications to register (or renew the registration of) short‑term rental accommodation premises; and  
  • monitor and support compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.

We may provide this information to:

  • relevant Local Government and State Government agencies;
  • LGIRS staff who support delivery of the STRA Register and related functions (including ICT, payments, communications and education);
  • property managers who you nominate and/or owners who nominate you as their property manager (where applicable);
  • relevant strata title schemes and community title schemes, where the property is part of a strata or community title scheme;
  • relevant persons or agencies for health and safety purposes, where authorised by law.

We will not disclose personal information about you to anybody else, unless you have given consent, or we are authorised or required to do so by law. 

Providing us with the requested information is required under section 18 of the Short-Term Rental Accommodation Act 2024 to register short‑term rental accommodation in Western Australia. If you choose not to provide us with it, we may be unable to register or renew the registration of your STRA premises.
