National Resource Centre For Migrant Empowerment

Using the theme 'Safer Roads',  The National Resource Centre for Migrant Empowerment (NRCME) wants to increase awareness and promote road safety among people of linguistic origin and work with police to help migrants understand the existing rules and enforcement measures.
This project aims to adapt existing road safety resources so that migrant communities can understand them as there are lots of existing resources that needs to be translated and also to develop them into videos message and also engages with community leaders to speak about road safety to use on social medias. Secondly, the project aims to develop education to ensure that immigrant children, young people, and elderly people continue to be aware of the rules of the road and contribute to improving road safety in their region.

The project will run between the 1 August 2022 to 30 November 2022 in the City of Perth.

Narembeen Community Resource Center

Using the theme 'The Road to Zero', this project aims to raise awareness about the impact of road trauma. The Narembeen CRC plans to air the 30sec SOCK poem video, which was created during SOCK Week 2021  on national TV. The intent is to purchase 100x spots on GWN7 and play the video from 15-22 May and further increase the awareness of the devastating impact poor decision making can have. On the Monday, CRC will also encourage people at the local cafe to 'take the pledge' to drive and survive and towards 'The Road to Zero'. To encourage people to take the pledge, each person that will take the pledge will receive a NRSW branded cupcake and yellow ribbon. ‍ CRC will create a photo collage of all local people that took the pledge. CRC will advertise this photo collage in the local newspaper, on the website and on all social media channels with the link to the 'Road safety Week' website where more people can take the pledge.

This project will run between 16-22 May 2022 in the Shire of Narembeen.
