Licensing and registration
Consumer Protection requires licences or registrations for certain occupations to make sure only qualified and trustworthy people can work in those fields. This helps protect consumers from poor quality work, unfinished jobs, or financial loss if a business fails.
Being licensed is an easy way for consumers to know you meet the high standards required by the legislation.
People working in the following industries must be licensed or registered with Consumer Protection:
- Real estate industry
- Settlement industry
- Land valuer industry
- Employment agent industry
- Debt collector industry
- Motor vehicle dealer industry
- Motor vehicle repair industry
