Our commitment
We are committed to achieving the vision of our Wellbeing strategy 2023–26 (wellbeing strategy) through a holistic and inclusive approach to support, including:
- promoting positive mental health and wellbeing at work
- preventing mental injury and illness
- taking necessary steps to assist recovery if mental injury and illness occur.
Our wellbeing agenda
Our agenda is to enhance wellbeing by preventing harm, mitigating adverse effects, and helping build employee resilience. We will assist our employees to confidently cope with, and thrive in, the workplace by:
- taking a strategic, integrated, and holistic approach to mental health
- highlighting the need for shared responsibility
- creating an inclusive culture that builds organisational equity
- implementing an evidence-based approach through data analytics, including preventative measures as well as supportive interventions
- emphasising a positive approach to mental health by actively promoting wellbeing as a core priority of the department.
Our employees deserve to feel safe and protected in the workplace. We look after our physical and emotional wellbeing by adopting safe work practices in our day-to-day duties, and we prioritise the safety of ourselves and others.
Employee Assistance Program
We have an Employee Assistance Program to help you deal with the challenges, concerns or issues that may be affecting you at work or at home.
This can include problems within personal relationships, addiction, gambling, anger, parenting, financial stress, grief, as well as the daily stresses faced in the workplace.
The service is completely confidential, voluntary, and free of charge.
