Resources Online is the new and secure digital solution to improve the efficiency of environmental applications under the Mining Act 1978 and State petroleum legislation.
This is a key deliverable of the Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration’s (DMPE) Fast Tracking Mining Approvals program, which aims to significantly expand and improve the digital capability of mining and petroleum environmental lodgements to the department.
The new platform has replaced the current Environmental Assessment and Regulatory System (EARS Online) with a consolidated solution that enables users to submit, track and manage numerous mining and petroleum environmental lodgements to DMPE.
The below applications have been released in the following stages.
Access Resources Online – Public Search
Release 1 – Complete – 26 November 2024
- Resources Online Portal
- Programme of Works (PoW)
Release 2 – Complete – 9 September 2025
- Eligible Mining Activities
- Mining Development and Closure Proposals
- Mine Closure Plan
- Programme of Works (PoW) Rehabilitation Report
Release 3 – Complete – 9 June 2026
- Environment Plan (EP) and an Oil Spill Contingency Plan (OSCP)
- Native Vegetation Clearing Permits (mineral and petroleum activities) (NVCP)
