Waullo Dawn Healing Service, a new one stop hub to support victim-survivors of family and domestic violence, has opened its dedicated premises in Armadale.
The hub provides a one-stop entry point where victim-survivors of family and domestic violence can access a range of specialist supports around their safety, health and wellbeing, legal, housing, homelessness, family and parenting needs.
The hub also delivers a men’s healing service from a separate location, supporting perpetrators to reflect on their own behaviours to build healthier families and a safer community.
Family safety, kinship and cultural connections are a focus of the hub service model, which was designed in collaboration with local people, Noongar Elders and service providers.
The hub service is being delivered by Hope Community Services in partnership with Yorgum Healing Services and a service alliance comprising Women’s Legal Service WA, Ngala Community Services, Ishar Multicultural Women’s Health Services, Aboriginal Legal Service of WA, Ruah Community Services, 360 Health and Community and Marmun Mia-Mia.
The service alliance has been running an interim Armadale hub service, known as the South East FDV Healing Service, since September 2023.
Together with Mirrabooka (Naala Djookan), Kalgoorlie (Mara Pirni Healing Place), Broome (Bibimbiya Jan-ga Buru) and the Perth city location (Karlup at the Angela Wright Bennett Centre), there are now five family and domestic violence one stop hubs operating in WA, providing a single central point for victim-survivors to access support and services in their community.
