Major redevelopment of the Stirling Women’s Centre has reached its next milestone with the appointment of Perth-based builder Shelford Constructions Pty Ltd to deliver the $22.6 million project.
Once complete, the redevelopment will see the centre’s crisis accommodation capacity increase from five rooms to 16 independent units, each built to a Silver Livable Housing Standard and providing a safe, accessible place to sleep for women and children impacted by family and domestic violence.
The needs of culturally and linguistically diverse, lived experience and Aboriginal communities have been incorporated into the centre’s redevelopment with architectural firm Whitehaus including outcomes from ongoing consultation in their design.
Now, Shelford Constructions will take the project into its next phase and is expected to finish construction by late 2028.
More information about the redevelopment can be found in the media statement released by the State Government.
