The Department of Communities (Communities) Office of Homelessness is continuing to support local responses to homelessness across Western Australia, with The Crew contracted to deliver case management services for people experiencing rough sleeping in Rockingham and surrounding areas.

Local to the area, The Crew has extensive experience supporting vulnerable Western Australians and will be offering a range of person centred supports.

The contract, to be administered by Communities, forms part of the WA Government’s $2.6 million investment to establish and operate the Rockingham Safe Night Space, which was announced last month and will provide safe overnight shelter for up to 30 people experiencing homelessness per night.

Investing in place-based responses to homelessness remains a priority of the WA Government, which awarded the first five-year contracts for the Booraka Danjoo Coordinated Outreach Services earlier this year, delivering localised outreach and engagement across Perth's North-East, North-West, Central and Southern corridors.

Another initiative, Mandurah Common Ground, is due for practical completion by the end of the year and will provide 50 self-contained apartments for adults experiencing homelessness or rough sleeping.
