The delivery of an Early Learning and Family Centre in Derby has reached a major milestone with the awarding of a $261,832 grant to the Ngunga Group Womens Aboriginal Corporation.
This grant will fund the delivery of a project definition plan as the first phase of establishing the Early Learning and Family Centre in Derby.
$6.1 million was committed by the State Government towards establishing the Derby Early Learning and Family Centre.
This commitment was boosted by an additional $2.25 million contribution from Minderoo Foundation.
The Early Learning and Family Centre is one of 24 priority projects funded through the Early Years Partnership, which is a collaboration between the Department of Communities, WA Health, Department of Education WA, the Minderoo Foundation and local communities.
The Kids Research Institute Australia is evaluation and evidence partner.
The Early Years Partnership aims to improve the development, health and learning outcomes of children aged 0-4 years across its partner communities of Armadale West, Central Great Southern, Derby (including Mowanjum and Pandanus Park) and Bidyadanga.
