Grants and awards to celebrate 2025 Seniors Week in WA

News story
Nominations for the WA Seniors Awards and applications for the Seniors Week Community grants program are now open
Last updated:

Seniors Week, which runs from 9-16 November, celebrates the role of older people in our communities, promotes positive ageing, and encourages active participation in community life in WA, particularly for people experiencing isolation.

Grant funding is now available for local governments, registered not-for-profit organisations and community groups in Western Australia for events during Seniors Week 2025.

The Seniors Week Community Grants Program focuses on initiatives that recognise and celebrate older Western Australians for their contribution to the community and offer activities that encourage active ageing.

Grants up to $3,000 can be used to meet event-related costs such as advertising and promotion, catering, venue and equipment hire, and transport.

Nominations for the WA Seniors Awards 2025 can be made by organisations or individual members of the public. The Awards acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of exceptional seniors, as well as seniors’ advocates, businesses and local governments that support older Western Australians to age well in their community.

Applications for grants and nominations for the WA Seniors Awards, funded by Communities and coordinated by the Seniors Peak, Advocare, can be found on Advocare’s webpage

Alternatively, information is available by calling Advocare on (08) 9479 7566.

Grant applications and awards nominations close on 5 September 2025. Awards will be presented during Seniors Week.
