Funding is available through a new grants program for Aboriginal organisations to transform the way they provide services for Aboriginal people.

The Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) Capability Building Grant Program is open to businesses that provide or aspire to provide services for Aboriginal people on behalf of the Department of Communities.

The program will support ACCOs to be better equipped to deliver more culturally appropriate services for children, families and communities, while also providing an opportunity for organisations to increase workforce skills, training and development.

Applications close at 4pm on Friday 5 March. More information, including guidelines and an application form, is available on the Communities’ grants webpage.

The program supports the aims to the ACCO Strategy, which is currently being updated. It will assist in increasing opportunities for ACCOs to take a greater role in providing services for Aboriginal people.
