An accommodation service providing vital support for women experiencing homelessness has been transitioned to a new location ensuring no loss of service for those in need.

The new service managed by MercyCare, and funded by Department of Communities, opened on 30 June following St Bart’s decision to close its Women’s Service as part of site redevelopment plans.

Importantly, every woman who was accommodated at St Bart’s that expressed interest in receiving continued support has been provided accommodation both at the new service and other accommodation options.

The new supported accommodation service managed by MercyCare provides a like-for-like service to the St Bart’s facility, with trauma informed, secure accommodation and services for up to 27 women.

The new facility is well located within the Perth metro area with easy access to public transport and shops.
