A new industrial Agreement has come into effect for the child protection workforce after it was registered with the WA Industrial Relations Commission (WAIRC) on 11 June 2025.

The agreement was formally accepted by members of the Community and Public Sector/Civil Service Association (CPSU/CSA) in March 2025.

The agreement covers approximately 2,400 workers across Western Australia, recognising the critically important work that child protection practitioners provide for vulnerable Western Australian families and communities.

Around 1,300 child protection practitioners will receive a salary scale uplift, along with improved collective bargaining conditions and enhanced opportunities for career development and progression.
