New contract to support families in the Bindjareb region

South West Aboriginal Medical Service (SWAMS) has been awarded the contract to deliver the Bindjareb Support Network (BSN).

The BSN is a new service for families living in the Bindjareb region (Mandurah and surrounding areas) needing assistance in navigating support services. It provides a common entry point for families to both community and mainstream supports that encourage and assist them to thrive.

The service is open to families who are not involved with Communities and young people aged 18 to 25 years who have had a care experience. This service does not accept referrals from families where child protection concerns exist.

The BSN will accept referrals from Communities, Support Network partner agencies, non-partner agencies in the community and directly from families. The BSN will assess family needs and either coordinate a range of services to work with the family or link the family with a partner agency who will coordinate the services they need and/or provide case management.

Following a three month setup period, the BSN is anticipated to commence service delivery in November 2026.
