The second five-year Action Plan under WA’s 10-Year Homelessness Strategy, setting a clear framework for the next phase of homelessness service delivery across the State was launched today.
Building on the foundations established through the first implementation phase of the Strategy by the Department of Communities, the second Action Plan 2026–2030 sets four priority areas to focus on: sustaining effort, providing strong preventative responses, intervening earlier and measuring success.
The Action Plan continues work already underway through key long-term initiatives, including the delivery of Common Ground developments and Aboriginal Short Stay Accommodation services, while sustaining efforts to support people experiencing homelessness, particularly those sleeping rough.
Development of the Action Plan was informed through consultation with State Government agencies, local governments, the community services sector and people with lived experience of homelessness.
