The WA Volunteer Service Awards are an opportunity for the State Government to directly thank and celebrate volunteers who contribute their time, skills and efforts to support Western Australian communities.

Volunteers with five years’ voluntary service or more can be nominated (or self-nominate) for a WA Volunteer Service Award.

Since the WA Volunteer Service Awards first started in 2012, more than 4,000 volunteers have been recognised for their incredible service to Western Australian communities.

All eligible volunteers will receive a Certificate of Recognition and congratulatory letter signed by the Minister for Volunteering.

Volunteers recognised for over 20 years of voluntary service also receive a commemorative pin.

Held during National Volunteer Week in May, the annual WA Volunteer Service Awards bring together volunteers from all over the State, many of them longstanding volunteers for over 50 years, or more!

The WA Volunteer Service Awards are different from Volunteering WA’s Volunteer of the Year Awards, which recognise volunteers for outstanding efforts across seven distinct categories, with award finalists and recipients announced for each. For the State Government’s Volunteer Service Awards, anyone who has volunteered for five or more years may be recognised for their efforts.

Organisations can nominate volunteers for both programs if they are able to meet the required program eligibility criteria for each.

For eligibility information and to nominate for the WA Volunteer Service Awards, visit the Volunteer Service Awards webpage.
