Last updated:

Industrial inspectors at the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety (LGIRS) were successful in recovering $938,275 in underpaid wages and other entitlements for WA workers in 2025-26.

The underpayments were recovered through inspectors conciliating and investigating complaints lodged by employees, undertaking targeted proactive inspections, and taking court proceedings.

As in previous years, long service leave entitlements accounted for the highest number of underpayment complaints made by WA workers.

Employees who believe they may have been underpaid or may have not received entitlements under a WA award, the state minimum conditions of employment or state long service leave laws should visit Steps to making an underpayment complaint or contact Wageline on 1300 655 266 for more information.
