The Department of Communities is seeking expressions of interest from community members to join the Lived Experience Advisory Panel (LEAP).

LEAP is a group of up to 10 people who share their lived experience of disability to help guide the Disability Division. Members include people with disability and people who play an important unpaid role in the life of a loved one with disability.

LEAP members provide advice to help improve services and make sure the rights of people with disability are at the centre of decision making.

LEAP is a safe, inclusive and supportive space, and members are paid for their time. Meetings are held every six weeks, with support and adjustments available to help people take part.

  • More detail about LEAP, what’s involved and how to apply is available in the Expression of Interest and Terms of Reference documents at the bottom of this page.
  • Expressions of Interest close on Friday 19 June 2026.
  • If you have any questions or need help to apply, please email DisabilityLEAP@communities.wa.gov.au or call Beck on 0432 753 010.
