Bankwest is hosting a free event on Tuesday 10 June at Bankwest Place in the Perth CBD, with the Department of Communities and elder abuse service providers actively supporting and contributing to the program.

Bringing together providers who offer support for seniors safety, the event will provide seniors with the tools to recognise concerning signs and outline supports available.

Topics at the event include:

  • how to recognise elder abuse and the mistreatment of older people and where to seek support
  • safety in relationships and how to be in control of your decisions
  • the significance of Enduring Power of Attorney and Guardianship
  • information about WA concessions available for Seniors, including the WA Seniors Card.

There will be presentations from Elder Abuse and Seniors Services, including the WA Seniors Peak (Advocare), Elder Rights WA (Legal Aid WA), Older People’s Rights Service (Northern Suburbs Community Legal Centre) and Department of Communities.

Morning tea will be provided by Bankwest.

WA Government’s support of this event reflects the ongoing commitment to supporting and safeguarding older Western Australians through a wide range of initiatives, services, and resources.

We are encouraging all West Australians to ’Wise Up and Rise Up’ against all forms of abuse against older people in our community.

Registrations for the free event are essential and can be made online at the link below:
