“Innovation isn’t linear, it grows in leaps and bounds – and quantum leaps!” she said. “And Western Australia has the people, the places and the space to be an innovation leader. ”

With 400 members of the Senior Executive Service (SES) from across the public sector coming together to think about how we can innovate to solve problems faced by our state and sector, Dr Ball delivered a captivating presentation about emerging technologies and how we might use them in the future.

The Spotlight series is part of our broader approach to building a future enabled public sector and was framed around the WA Innovation Strategy presented by Innovation Minister Stephen Dawson.

It brings together the entire SES cohort to build capability and a shared sense of purpose, and highlight key focus areas for the near future. It also supports Future Enabled, the strategic narrative of the Western Australian public sector.
