Special Bulletin - Course Accreditation Forms

The Training Accreditation Council (TAC), as part of its ongoing commitment to continuous improvement, has completed a review of the TAC Course Accreditation Application forms. The updated forms will come into effect from 1 July 2026

Please refer to the below for a list of the forms and their associated document number:

The forms have been reformatted for ease of use and include additional information requirements such as the new national classification code, the Occupation Standard Classification for Australia (OSCA), released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) in December 2024. This new classification is being implemented across government agencies and replaces the existing ANZSCO and/or ASCO codes.

New Accreditation Guides

To assist course owners in completing the updated application forms, two new guides have been developed:

These guides explain the requirements for each section of the application forms, support course owners to ensure their courses meet the AQTF 2021 Standards for Accredited Courses, and provide guidance on demonstrating an established industry, education, legislative, enterprise, or community need for the course.

All forms and guides are now available in the Course Accreditation section of the TAC website.

Upcoming Webinar

A webinar on the Course Accreditation Process will be delivered shortly. Course owners and developers are strongly encouraged to attend or access the recording to stay informed about updated requirements and processes. Register your interest now to attend the webinar, with dates and times to be confirmed.

Occupation Standard Classification for Australia (OSCA)

In December 2024, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) released a new national classification framework, the Occupation Standard Classification for Australia (OSCA). This framework is now being implemented across government agencies for the classification of occupational data and will replace the existing ANZSCO and/or ASCO codes. The ABS will also be using OSCA coding for the 2026 Census.

To prepare for this transition, TAC is required to update all accredited courses to align to OSCA.  If you are a current course owner, you will receive TAC correspondence shortly in relation to the OSCA code that will be assigned to your current accredited course/s.
