The State Government has announced it will streamline planning and development to accelerate housing supply around Perth’s metropolitan train stations.

Station Precinct Improvement Plans and Schemes will enable a consistent planning approach and decision making focussed on maximising opportunities to deliver a mix of new home types within 800 metres of train stations.

Perth and Peel @3.5 million identified station precincts as important locations for urban infill development and the transition to a more connected city supporting Perth’s population growth.

The following are the initial locations to be subject to improvement plans and schemes:

  • Ballajura
  • Glendalough
  • Bassendean
  • Morley
  • Carlisle / Oats St
  • Mosman Park
  • Claisebrook
  • Redcliffe
  • Cottesloe
  • Swanbourne

Close consultation with local governments will help to inform specific precinct planning and ensure that development is appropriate and complements the character of each precinct.
