"It was so encouraging to see so many dynamic leaders in the group working across different areas and from all over the state," Stephen said.

He said it was particularly encouraging to see so many Aboriginal women in leadership roles.

"Some of the industries these women are working in can be heavily male dominated, so it can be hard work for women to occupy management roles in these areas of employment," he said.

Stephen said as managers they would not only have to be aware of their rights under the Equal Opportunity Act 1984, but also their responsibilities.

"This group has a lot to contribute to their teams as well as their organisations, and it makes me excited to be a part of that journey," he said.
