  • From 5 February 2022, all persons aged 18 and above requiring entry to correctional facilities (unless exempt) must provide proof of booster vaccination against COVID-19, if eligible.
  • All persons aged 12-17 years of age must continue to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19.

For the best way to access proof of your COVID-19 vaccination refer to Services Australia.

This Booster Direction applies in addition to the WA Correctional Facility Entrant Directions to persons who enter a correctional facility in any capacity unless exemptions apply.

Entrants must provide proof (hard copy or digital) of their vaccination status in a form stated below:

  • An Australian Immunisation Register immunisation history statement (for proof of double-dose vaccination, or evidence of a booster vaccination);
  • A COVID-19 vaccination certification (for proof of double-dose vaccination).

Alternatively, proof of exemption will need to be provided. Immunisation medical exemption criteria is available from the Australian Government website.
