What we do
The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation provides assistance to farmers through:
- the Farm Water Supply Planning Scheme, which provides a rebate to commercial broadacre farmers to fund an audit of their water supply
- the Community Water Supply Program, which provides grants of up to $100,000 for community water supply improvements in dryland agricultural areas receiving fewer than 600 mm average annual rainfall
- emergency farmland water response planning and water deficiency arrangements
- management of strategic community water supplies.
