Unlimited - building surveying work in respect of any building or incidental structure.

1. You'll need

• A copy of your Australian Institute of Building Surveyors (AIBS) equivalent qualification or a Bachelor of Building Surveying and Certification granted by the Central Queensland University or other equivalent qualification;
• Demonstrate three years full-time experience in building surveying work;
  • You may use the work example template and refer to the Fit and proper person policy
• Proof of identification ready to upload;
• A police check ready to upload (dated within the past 3 months, showing the same name as your identification);
• Visa/Mastercard for fee payment.

2. Complete application form

Limited - building surveying work in respect of Class 1 or 10 buildings or incidental structures or Class 2 to 9 buildings or incidental structures with a floor area up to 2,000m² and not more than three storeys.

• Demonstrate two years full-time experience in building surveying work;

• A police check ready to upload (dated within the past 3 months, showing the same name as your identification);
• Visa/Mastercard for fee payment.

Limited - certifying compliance of Class 1 or Class 10 buildings and Class 2 to Class 9 buildings with a maximum floor area of 500m2 and not more than two storeys.

In Western Australia, building surveying practitioner technician's must be registered and may only carry out building surveying work under supervision, either through a building surveying contractor or while employed by a permit authority.

• A copy of your Diploma of Building Surveying OR "Building Surveying Services for Residential Buildings up to Three Storeys" skillset;
• Proof of identification;
• A police check (dated within the past 3 months, showing the same name as your identification);
• Visa/Mastercard for fee payment.

Search by number: You can check if a licence number is still valid. Type the number into the field on the opening screen.

Search by type of licence: You can look for licensed people in your neighbourhood. Click on ‘Type’. Start typing in the licence type in the box eg. debt collector. Then type in either a name or location.
