Request a training record and logbook.

Application reviewed by Electrical Board. Allow minimum of 2 months for consideration.If application is approved, complete training logbook.Submit completed training record and logbook and pay licence fee.

Restricted electrical licences are designed for trades and roles where limited electrical work is part of the job. You may be eligible if you're a:

  • Plumber
  • Air-conditioning technician
  • Mechanical fitter
  • Gas fitter
  • Appliance repair technician
  • Plant or industrial machinery operator

Eligibility depends on your current qualifications, job tasks, and the type of work you intend to perform.

Completion of logbook and training record

1. You'll need:

  • A finalised training record and logbook;
  • Proof of identification;
  • A police check (dated within the past 3 months);
  • Completed Restricted Electrical Licence System Training Record and Logbook (purple logbook);
  • Visa/Mastercard for fee payment.

2. Complete application form

Print or digitally complete the application form.
