Together with the Guidelines for Measuring CPO Success, the CPO Suite provides a consistent, sector-wide reference point for understanding, describing and evidencing the role of the CPO (or equivalent) as a strategic leader and enabler of public value at both an agency and whole-of-sector level.

How this fits with other capability tools

The CPO Suite complements the Procurement Capability Matrix (PCM) and related frameworks by defining leadership success at the executive level, while the PCM describes capability expectations across practitioner and specialist roles.

Together, these tools support consistent role clarity, capability development and professional standards across the procurement workforce.

CPO Success Profile

Define leadership expectations

Defines the key expectations, accountabilities and experience required for CPO (and equivalent roles) to lead a modern, strategic procurement function. The Profile establishes a shared understanding and common language for procurement leadership across the Western Australian public sector.

Guidelines for Measuring CPO Success

Measure leadership impact

Provides practical guidance on how to assess and evidence CPO impact using appropriate indicators, measures and sources of evidence.

The Guidelines support agencies to demonstrate how procurement leadership contributes to agency performance and sector-wide outcomes.
