The WA Government will provide a weekly fuel update to keep the public informed on the state’s fuel security.
These updates will outline some of the actions the Government is taking to manage supply chain issues caused by the global fuel shock.
Please note that weekly updates were paused on 10 and 17 July.

Summary of current fuel situation as at 18 September 2026
What was achieved this week:
- Forty-five inspections this week for a total of 2761 inspections since the start of our inspection blitz in early March, resulting in 123 infringements issued so far.
- We requested an extension of our Fuel State of Emergency Powers. The powers require fuel companies to provide weekly updates on their fuel holdings. It means we have the clearest picture of fuel availability in the country.
- A series of improvements will be made to the FuelWatch website, including an enhanced geolocational functionality to identify the user's location, which will help users more easily identify nearby fuel retailers and compare fuel prices in their area.
- Fuel supplies are stable for September and October and fuel station stockouts continue to remain low across the State.
- There is more fuel in WA now than at the same time last year.
- We’re continuing to work actively with industry to ensure WA has access to the most detailed supply chain information in the country.
- Over 1,175,100 Western Australians have claimed the $100 Fuel Support Payment. More information at wa.gov.au/FuelPayment.
