The At Risk Youth Strategy 2022-2027 provides support for young people with complex and multiple needs who require support and aims to work with these young people, their families, and communities to improve their futures.
The young people who are the focus of the Strategy face challenges that put them at risk of harm, which may include family dysfunction, child protection concerns, mental health, and social and emotional wellbeing concerns.
For Aboriginal young people and their families, there may also be additional challenges associated with living in regional and remote areas, intergenerational trauma, and disadvantage across a range of indicators.
Communities is working with partner agencies, the community services sector, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs), key stakeholders and young people with lived experience of being at risk in the implementation of the Strategy.
