Standardised Approvals Pathway Category 35 and 61A: Asphalt manufacturing (including RAP) fact sheet

Fact sheet
Provides an overview of the Standardised Approvals Pathway for lower-capacity asphalt manufacturing operations that store and reuse RAP in the production process.
Last updated:

The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation is introducing a Standardised Approvals Pathway under Part V of the Environmental Protection Act 1986 for select lower risk prescribed premises categories. This pathway provides a defined application and assessment process where activities meet published eligibility criteria and are suitable for standard conditions.

The Standardised Approvals Pathway for this category is intended to apply to mobile or lower-capacity asphalt plants producing up to 50,000 tonnes per year. These premises are also designed to store and handle defined volumes of Reclaimed/Recycled Asphalt (RAP) for reuse in the manufacturing process, not exceeding 5,000 tonnes per year. These activities are associated with surfacing large-scale industrial sites or road construction.
