Stronger Together - WA's Plan for Gender Equality

The State Government has released a plan to address gender inequality in Western Australia.

Stronger Together: WA’s Plan for Gender Equality provides a framework for coordinated action by Government, business, organisations and individuals with practical steps to advance gender equality over the next 10 years.

An extensive consultation process was undertaken for this plan and a wide range of people from all age groups, diverse backgrounds, different abilities and diverse sexual identities across Western Australia provided their thoughts and ideas. The issues raised by Western Australians during these discussions made it clear that things need to change.

Women and girls in Western Australia deserve to live and work safely in a community where diversity is embraced and where access to rights, resources, opportunities and protections is not determined by gender.

Stronger Together sets out how the Government will lead the way to bring about generational change and create a better, fairer and more equitable community in Western Australia.

An Implementation and Action plan is guiding delivery of Stronger Together. Evidence collected from the outcomes of actions will reflect the status of progress made to advance gender equality and will inform future actions plans.

The interim report provides a brief summary of work that is being undertaken across Government to progress Stronger Together and support women during COVID-19 recovery.
