International Volunteer Day Grants Program 2026

Grants of up to $1,000 will support community organisations to host events or activities occurring between 30 November and 6 December 2026 in celebration of volunteers for International Volunteer Day (5 December 2026).

The grant supports communities to celebrate International Volunteer Day as a whole of community event to acknowledge and celebrate the role of volunteers in the community. 

The 2026 International Volunteer Day Grants Program is now open for applications on SmartyGrants.

How to apply

1. Register an account on SmartyGrants if you have not used it before.
2. Complete the online Application Form on SmartyGrants. The Guidelines can be accessed directly within the form – please read them carefully before starting your application.
3. Upload any supporting documents, if required.
4. Ensure the application is reviewed and approved by the authorised delegate of the organisation.
5. Submit the application on SmartyGrants before the deadline.

Late applications will not be accepted, as the SmartyGrants portal will automatically close at the advertised closing time.
