Mandurah

  • Peel Silent March 

We will be hosting our 15th Annual Peel Regional Silent March on the 21st November 2025. It will be a time to remember and honour all those who have lost their lives as a result of domestic and family violence. 

The event will commence at 10am with a march to follow - we hope you can join us at this special event.

  • 16 Days In WA Community Colour Run Kalgoorlie 

Mara Pirni Healing Place is hosting a free, vibrant Community Colour Run during the 16 Days in WA campaign to raise awareness about family, domestic and gender based violence. Join us for a fun, colourful day with a colour run, BBQ lunch, ice cream and slushies, lively music, and community connection. We’ll all wear t-shirts and bucket hats with messages to Play Your Part - Stop Violence Against Women, emphasising that violence against anyone is unacceptable, and together we can help change attitudes and behaviour across WA.

  • DV-alert two-day Foundations Workshop

This two-day Foundations Workshop is offered at no cost to help frontline workers recognise the signs of domestic and family violence, and know what to do next. This workshop is the first step in DV-alert's Assessment Pathway, preparing learners for further training and leading to a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.

What you will learn - this workshop covers the nature and scope, patterns and impacts of domestic and family violence, what to consider for diverse groups, communication skills, safety planning, referral pathways and more.

City of Rockingham and Kwinana 

  • Safe Tech, Safe Women 

During the "16 Days in WA Play Your Part" campaign, SCALES Community Legal Centre will be delivering several outreach community legal educational sessions. Utilising pop-up locations throughout the cities of Rockingham and Kwinana, the "Safe Tech, Safe Women" program will connect with local residents to increase awareness of family, domestic, and sexual violence, with a special emphasis on abuse facilitated by technology. The outreach aims to equip individuals with knowledge about using technology safely, identifying digital abuse, and accessing available support services. SCALES staff will be on hand to provide information and distribute resources. "Safe Tech, Safe Women" underscores SCALES CLC’s steadfast dedication to fostering safety, respect, and justice within the community.

  • Filling the Gaps in Family Domestic Violence: DVassist’s Counselling Model and Impact in Regional, rural and Remote WA - CSI UWA webinar

This session presents findings from the Centre for Social Impact at UWA’s evaluation of DVassist’s specialist family and domestic violence counselling services. Operating across 58 regional, rural, and remote local government areas, DVassist provides free, trauma-informed, and accessible counselling to victim-survivors.

Drawing on evaluation data, lived experience insights, and client case studies, the session explores the barriers women face when seeking FDV support, and how DVassist’s low-barrier, “no wrong door” model addresses critical service gaps. It will highlight measurable benefits such as improved wellbeing, empowerment, and stronger connections to local resources.

Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the realities of FDV outside metropolitan areas and the importance of regionally responsive, tailored support for recovery and safety in Western Australia’s communities.

It is our service intention to acknowledge the women who have passed due to FDV incidences by placing an orange heart shaped piece of cardboard on a stake and display them on the pathway leading into our clinic.  

A morning tea table will be set up with 16 Days in WA resources and alike to begin the conversation with patients, clients and community members visiting the clinic on the day about playing a part in preventing FDV and speaking up for those who cannot. 

We will also have a pledge tree for anyone to write their thought on FDV in our local community. These will then be displayed out our Safe House for clients to reflect on.

Author of novels Wherever You Go and Wildflower, Monique Mulligan is a multi-passionate creative fascinated by the simple things in life, the extraordinary ordinary and human behaviour. Monique writes A Life (Extra) Ordinary on Substack.

Tinashe La is a survivor of family, domestic and sexual violence and author of the book 'Greener Pastures beyond Mt.Abuse'. She is a lived experience advocate for Ruah’s “my story my time” and part of WA's first Lived Experience Advisory Group. She works for the Centre for Women’s Safety and Wellbeing as a chair for the Advisory Group for Refugee and Migrant Communities in Western Australia. She also works for Shalom Drug Rehabilitation as a counsellor and mentor in between working for her counselling practice.

  • 16 Days of Activism - Workplace Sexual Harassment and Active Bystander Training

Workplace sexual harassment affects people across all industries and job types. This training provides a valuable opportunity for those entering the workforce, returning to work, or navigating their current employment settings to understand their rights and build practical skills to help create and contribute to safer work environments.

This session is being held as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, a global campaign that runs each year from 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to 10 December (Human Rights Day). These dates were chosen to emphasise that violence against women is a fundamental human rights issue. By participating, you will be joining a worldwide call to action to end gender-based violence in all its forms, including workplace sexual harassment.

Through spoken word, written poetry, and visual displays, this exhibition invites audiences into a safe and thought-provoking space to explore the realities of violence against women and the resilience that follows.

Divided into five thematic collections — Naming the Monster, Speak Up: Tell Your Story, A Fractured World, Acceptance and Healing, and New Beginnings — each piece illuminates a different facet of survival, recovery, and justice.

The exhibition also includes live spoken word performances by the artist and an interactive reflection wall where visitors are invited (if they choose) to share their own words of solidarity, healing, or remembrance.

This event aims to transform pain into poetry, silence into story, and art into advocacy.

MercyCare Mirrabooka is facilitating an Art Exhibition featuring individual artworks and a combined art piece from inspiration of "Play Your Part" for the 16 Days In WA, these art pieces are created by the CALD women's "Create and Chat" Art Group. The Create and Chat group is a social connection space for migrant, refugee and asylum seeker women to come and feel empowered through creation of their art.

Come on down to MercyCare Mirrabooka to view the pieces and support these talented women; we will also have information stalls, food and other activities to participate in, alongside a video viewing of the Create and Chat group and what it means for participants to "Play Your Part".

This workshop is part of DV-alert’s Assessment Pathway, helping learners work towards a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.

Further training for frontline workers who have completed any 2-day DV-alert workshop, this workshop focuses on complex forms of violence including forced marriage, dowry abuse, female genital mutilation/cutting, human trafficking and domestic servitude.

This workshop is ideal for frontline workers in health, allied health, education, and community services sectors, as well as anyone who works or volunteers in a role where they may come into contact with people experiencing domestic and family violence.
