Organisations seek to continuously improve their implementation of National Principles within their operations and also conduct reviews to ensure that policies and procedures, including record keeping practices, are being implemented by staff and volunteers.
Participation and involvement of those internal and external to the organisation, including staff, volunteers, children and young people, families and community mentors in these reviews can strengthen an organisation’s child safeguarding capacities (Australian Human Rights Commission 2018).
