WAIPS is an initiative to maximise opportunities for local businesses to supply to the WA Government. It is focused on small and medium sized businesses across metropolitan and regional areas.  

WAIPS applies to WA Government procurement above designated values (total life of contract including GST).

WAIPS includes reporting requirements for WA Government agencies and potential suppliers, with all reporting completed through the online WAIPS portal.

WAIPS requirements include:
- Participation plan tasks for agencies and suppliers.
- Applications for exemptions by agencies.
- Reporting by suppliers.

Support for agencies

WAIPS applies to all WA Government departments, agencies, statutory authorities and government trading entities when carrying out procurement. WAIPS does not apply to universities and local government. Find out more about WAIPS for agencies.
