Completion of the Foundations of Procurement Risk Management and Procurement Insurance Requirements online modules are pre-requisites for attending this face-to-face Risk Management training.

This workshop expands on the topics covered in the Foundations of Procurement Risk Management and the Procurement Insurance Requirements online modules. This workshop focuses on real life scenarios of risk management in the procurement of Goods and Services, Community Services and Works.

Who is this training suitable for?

This online module is suitable for WA Public Sector employees involved in procurement processes including contract management, with varying degrees of experience and knowledge.

Completion of the Foundations of Procurement Risk Management and Procurement Insurance Requirements online modules are pre-requisites for attending this face-to-face Risk Management training.

You will learn

You will gain intermediate knowledge of risk to support a successful procurement process including:

  • The importance of active risk management throughout the procurement cycle from planning to contract management
  • The risk management process including how to identify risk, assess the impact and likelihood of risk, and design and implement ongoing risk treatment strategies in relation to procurement processes and contract operation
  • Practical application of completing a risk register and how to identify treatment strategies and engage key stakeholders
  • Skills required to facilitate a risk assessment workshop and techniques to achieve successful outcomes
  • Key tools and other resources to assist with the procurement risk management process
  • Know where to look for further assistance

Please note that this training is provided by the Department of Finance and funded for state public sector employees and Government Trading Enterprises. However, we encourage those in local government to submit an expression of interest. This will form a waitlist for sessions that have low enrolments, we will contact you when places become available.
