Regional Appeals Panel

The Housing Appeals Mechanism enables clients to appeal decisions made by the Department of Housing and Works which relate to their tenancy or an application for housing assistance.
Last updated:

The Regional Appeals Panel (RAP) is made up of a senior officer of the Department of Housing and Works and two independent panel members who sit to review and determine if appealable decisions are fair and comply with public housing policy.

The Regional Appeals Panel was formerly known as the Regional Appeals Committee.

Our panel members are chosen from across Western Australia, and it is important they are representative of the whole community in our rich and culturally diverse state.

Our members are trained on the Housing Appeals Mechanism, the principles of good decision-making practice, the application of equal opportunity principles, and Housing policies.

Regional Appeals Panel Member, Judi Bennington, was interviewed about the role by Kate Steinsvaag from DHW. You can access the interview video (20 mins) on Vimeo.
