Local government design review panels provide advice to decision makers on the design quality of a proposal against the SPP 7.0 Design Principles and supporting State Planning Policies, while considering relevant local planning schemes and policies. Information regarding design review (including Terms of Reference, any Local Planning Policy and other information) should be published on the Local Government’s website.

Eligibility for local government design review should be outlined in a Local Planning Policy to ensure a consistent approach for all proposals.
