Delivery Unit

The Delivery Unit drives the implementation of key government priorities. It provides strategic oversight and support to the Premier and Cabinet to ensure coordinated, high‑impact delivery across agencies to achieve measurable outcomes for Western Australians. It oversees Cabinet functions, intergovernmental relations, strategic communications, the Office of Early Childhood, the Collie Delivery Unit and other time-limited reform projects, and Aboriginal Remote Strategy initiatives. 

The Delivery Unit functions

Cabinet and Delivery Unit

Cabinet and Delivery provides strategic advice and coordinates the Government’s legislative and Parliamentary agenda, and supports the functions of Executive Council, Executive Government and Cabinet. The Cabinet function serves the Premier and Cabinet by understanding the decision-making pipeline and shaping the Cabinet’s agenda in collaboration with line agencies to deliver on Government priorities. The delivery function provides strategic oversight and support to the Premier, Cabinet and public sector agencies on implementation of their priorities. 

Intergovernmental Relations

The Intergovernmental Relations branch leads WA Government’s engagement with the Australian Government, states, and territories to advocate for WA’s interest at the national level and support the delivery of WA priorities. This includes providing advice to support the Premier’s participation in key intergovernmental forums, including National Cabinet; proactively influencing national reforms with diplomacy; negotiating high value and/or sensitive agreements; and driving collaboration across the WA Government to bring together whole-of-Government advice on national issues.

Strategic Communications Unit

The Strategic Communications Unit (SCU) provides internal and external communications and stakeholder engagement advice and services through leading, supporting or advising on whole of government communication initiatives. 

The Office of Early Childhood

The Office of Early Childhood is leading the development of policy and implementation advice to government on enhancing early learning for WA children, including the pilot program to trial additional Kindergarten hours in schools and a Play Strategy. 

Collie Delivery Unit

The Collie Delivery Unit coordinates, oversees and promotes activities and initiatives that support the future prosperity of Collie alongside the transition away from coal-powered energy. This includes encouraging new economic opportunities and maintaining the community's trust and engagement in its economic future.
