The RIS Community of Practice fosters collaboration and supports WA public entities to build capability for responsible data and information sharing.

The community is a forum for WA State and local government staff to identify opportunities for data and information sharing, overcome challenges and implement best practices, including implementation of the WA Government Information Classification Policy.

Sessions are shaped by sector needs and include government entity showcases and expert-led talks. Sessions are primarily held online, with in-person attendance offered from time to time.

The RIS Community of Practice is supported by a Microsoft Teams site for ongoing discussion and knowledge sharing between sessions.

Membership is open to staff from State government entities, local government authorities, Government Trading Enterprises and public universities.
