The Metropolitan Cemeteries Board manages and maintains seven cemetery and memorial garden sites around Perth.

Each cemetery has a distinct character and offers a wide range of options for burial and commemoration. The Facilities and Services Fees are outlined for specific services.

Karrakatta Cemetery

Karrakatta Cemetery first opened for burials in 1899. This historic cemetery is the final resting place of many thousands of West Australians. The cemetery is centrally located just seven kilometres west of the Perth city centre and is easily accessible by car or train.

Fremantle Cemetery

Fremantle Cemetery was established in 1898. Bounded by Leach Highway, Carrington Street, Sainsbury Road and Stock Road the cemetery occupies 46 hectares of land and is a place of major historical significance.

Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park

Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park is widely considered to be the most environmentally responsible cemetery in Australia. The park, which received its first burial in 1978, has been developed and maintained as a natural bushland cemetery planted only with native species.

Guildford Cemetery

Guildford Cemetery was first established in the late 1800s and holds the remains of some of Western Australia's most notable pioneers.

The Heritage Council of Western Australia recognises the cemetery’s historical significance and has listed Guildford on the Register of Heritage Places.

Midland Cemetery

Midland Cemetery is located on Myles Road in Midland, 23 kilometres north-east of Perth city.
The cemetery reflects the traditions of many cultures, including the Italian pioneers of the area and the Chinese community.

Rockingham Regional Memorial Park

To serve the existing and rapidly growing population of the south west corridor, Rockingham Regional Memorial Park on Baldivis Road, Baldivis – 42 kilometres south of Perth city – was opened in 2007. A section of the site has been allocated to the Muslim community for burials.

Gnangara Aboriginal Cemetery

The Cemetery is a place where persons of Aboriginal descent and their families, including the wider Nyoongah community, can be buried. When arranging a funeral, approval for the burial must be obtained from the Nyoongah Community Aboriginal Corporation (NCAC).
