What we do
The OIC supports the functions of the Information Commissioner, the Privacy Deputy Commissioner and Information Access Deputy Commissioner.
The Information Commissioner, Information Access Deputy Commissioner and Privacy Deputy Commissioner have functions and powers related to freedom of information and privacy matters in Western Australia, which are outlined in the Information Commissioner Act 2024 (the IC Act), the Freedom of Information Act 1992 (the FOI Act) and the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act 2024 (the PRIS Act).
FOI for the public
Information for members of the public about the right to access documents held by State and local government.
FOI for agencies
Information for agencies about dealing with access and amendment applications, conducting internal reviews and responsibilities.
OIC Decisions
The Information Commissioner is obliged under the FOI Act to fully inform the parties to a complaint of his/her decision.
