About the offer
The Tackle Shop Rebate offers current Recreational Fishing from Boat Licence holders a rebate of up to $50 if they purchase fishing gear from one of 45 participating WA tackle shops. The rebate program encourages recreational fishers to take up alternative fishing opportunities during the demersal closure, while supporting local WA tackle shops.
It also provides an opportunity for tackle shop staff to talk with fishers and help them towards sustainable, alternative species.
Claims open on Monday 18 May 2026, and will be open for six months, or until a cap of 66,000 claims is reached.
The Tackle Shop Rebate is part of the WA Government’s Fisheries Support Package, which aims to help stocks recover to sustainable levels so there are fish for the future.
